The School

Ok, I noticed that Methodist Girls School whether it is primary or secondary in Tengkera Melaka has no website and I assume that there is also no association as far as I can remember that ever existed.

Tonight I went to my father's function and it was the Malacca High School Old Boys Association Annual Dinner. It was actually not really an "annual" dinner as they had their last annual dinner 14 years ago!! However, it was amazing that tonight's annual dinner was a successful one and I am proud to see that the 2nd oldest school in the country actually had this done with the some old batches of students do manage to come!! There was a 90 year old man who was from the 1930 batch and another from a 1935 batch and 1940s!! Amazing as it was, there was Toh Puan Zaiton who has 4 children sent to MHS and her grandfather and granduncle who actually went to Malacca High School in 19th century...I think she was mentioning it was 1878? Still...that is truly amazing for a school that has been existed since 1826.

So that made me thinking... what happen to my school?? The Methodist Girls School, whether it is MGPS (1) or MGSS in Tengkera Melaka.

Funny thing is that just a few months back my cousin (who was my classmate all the way from Standard One till Form 2) suggested to me that we do a reunion. I was telling her that it can be done if we have the contacts.. I only have a handful, and so...I am not sure if there is any possibility that I can actually collect the contacts for the alumni of my school.

Anyway, apart from looking for those old friends that I can only remember them as schoolmates, I am also hoping that such a gathering for alumnis just like how Malacca High School had done will get to be materialise somewhere in the future.

I am not sure if I can actually have that happen or I can actually make it happen.

Anyway, if any of you are from MGPS or MGSS Tengkera, please do drop me a line here. It is nice to know how everybody is doing and for those who I have known a long time, that I do hope that I'll get to meet them and see how things go. Some might be successful people, some might not, but whatever it is... the best is to have the circle of friends widen.

Isn't that a great thing to have?
