Jumble Sale

I was at the warehouse sale in PJ recently, taking my mum along as this is what she would love to do but often not having a chance, and so when we came back home, looking at the things that we have bought, made me remember another thing. The Jumble Sale at school.

I wonder if there is such thing in all missionary schools in Malaysia nowadays? At that time when I was at school, there will be the time when this Jumble sale was on. I never appreciated it at that time actually, because I don't see anything that I thought I would need. Furthermore, my pocket money was always something I didn't want to spend until end of the week, where I'll buy some nice food for myself as a treat!

Anyway, talking about this Jumble Sale, though at that time it may not be really useful to me, but it was meaningful for some others. I knew my mum was one of them when she was in the convent school. She told me about it. I would say it may be so meaningful to many people that I was not realising then. Now, of course I do understand it.

Ok, talking back about the Jumble sale, it was really interesting. There were lots of clothes in the boxes that they put in our school hall. So many kinds, colourful and of course mostly are used clothes. The price range was starting from 50sen!!! Think you can find that price for clothes these days? No....

I wonder if anyone who bought in the school Jumble sale ever kept anything from it now? Hmm....well, that was in the late 70s...don't know if anyone do have anything from the Jumble Sale that was held those days when we were at school.

Anyway, just thought I'd tell about it here as some might forget what was happening at school when we were in the primary days.. Still, I know it was fun to do the window shopping at the Jumble Sale, but only for a reason that it was a different activity than the routine going to canteen during recess time!! If I am not mistaken, there was the time allocated for each class, so that every class had a chance to go through the Jumble sale. I think the time was adjusted accordingly for it so as not to disturb the usual class hour.

Well..that was the fun time on Jumble Sale!!! :)
